What are the caregiver’s responsibilities in the PA Medical Cannabis program?

A patient may dedicate up to two caregivers to obtain the medical cannabis for the patient. The caregiver must apply, register with the PA Department of Health, and submit to a background check.

Patients under the age of 18 are required to have a registered caregiver and may use a parent, legal guardian, or an approved third party caregiver. Caregivers must be at least 21 years of age or older, unless they are a parent or legal guardian of the patient.

Caregivers may have up to 5 patients at one time.
