What are the penalties for a person under 18 years of age in Pittsburgh with 30 grams (one ounce) or less of cannabis-weed on their person in a public space who does not plan to sell it?

Both minors and adults in Pittsburgh that are found in possession of a small amount of marijuana are subjected to a $25 fine for each offense. If an officer finds a minor or person under the age of 18 in possession of a small amount of marijuana they may:

3. Issue a copy of the citation to the parent-guardian and inform them that they are responsible for paying the $25 fine;

4. Provide the parent or guardian with contact information for the Allegheny County Department of Human Services or another local agency that deals with substance abuse education and treatment.
