What are the penalties for a person with more than 30 grams of Cannabis without intent to sell?

Possession of more than 30 grams is a misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of one year in jail and a $5,000 fine.

If it is the person’s first possession conviction, they may be eligible for conditional release, in that case they get probation for up to a year instead of jail time. A second or following conviction can lead to a doubled penalty.
