When do I have to notify my landlord of any emergencies?

In the case of an emergency it would be wise to contact your landlord, but it is not always necessary. If there are no laws that apply to your specific emergency, you can usually find the information regarding when you must notify your landlord in the tenants lease/rental agreement. If it is not mentioned in there then the tenant should speak with their landlord prior to making any modifications or before signing the lease agreement.
