What can you do when you want to leave?

If you want to leave, after your roommate decides to leave, you should:

  • Provide a 30-day notice if you are a month-to-month tenant immediately.
  • Notify your landlord that you must move because you can no longer afford the lease. Be sure to help secure a new tenant for the space so that you minimize your liability for breaking the lease.
